Clear pricing for services OHIP does not cover.
Some medical and administrative services are not covered by OHIP. Fees must be paid by the patient or the requesting third party, and we tell you the cost before the work is done.
What is usually not covered
- Employment, school, camp, daycare and insurance forms
- Sick notes and return-to-work letters
- Driver's medicals and pre-employment physicals
- Travel consultations and travel vaccines
- Transfer or copying of medical records
- Cosmetic procedures and certain minor procedures
- Visits without a valid Ontario health card
What OHIP does cover
Medically necessary services remain free for patients with a valid Ontario health card. That generally includes physician assessments, medically necessary referrals and procedures, eligible immunizations and eligible TB testing.
Coverage depends on your circumstances and current OHIP eligibility rules. If you are unsure whether a service is covered, ask our front desk before your appointment.

Frequently asked questions.
Why do I have to pay for a sick note?
OHIP does not fund administrative paperwork requested by employers, schools or insurers, so those services are billed to the patient or the requesting party.
Can I be seen without a health card?
Yes. Uninsured visits are billed at posted rates, and the cost is explained before you are assessed.
Do you accept private insurance?
Many plans reimburse uninsured services. We provide a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurer.
